Located at the edge of a peninsula on Canada’s West Coast, the Vancouver School of Economics (VSE) at the University of British Columbia (UBC) is a global centre for research and hands-on learning about pressing economic issues.

Consistently ranked as one of the top economics schools in Canada and amongst the top 25 worldwide, the VSE has faculty members who are experts in economics, finance and international trade. Students at the VSE learn from faculty who have influenced public policies on taxes, minimum wage rates, and more, through groundbreaking research and debate participation. Our faculty advise numerous national and international organizations such as Statistics Canada, Human Resources and Skill Development Canada and the Bank of Canada.

Located on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) people, we are a community of students, faculty members, practitioners, research and support staff, all working together to advance the study and understanding of local and worldwide economic issues.
