I am a Professor in the Department of Economics at Queen’s University and will be a virtual visitor at the VSE for fall 2020. My research focuses on North American economic history, environmental and natural resource economics, and law and economics.
My papers cover diverse topics, including induced technological change, natural resource-led growth, 17th century whaling, trade policy and globalization, and the economic impact of the recognition of Aboriginal title.
I completed my PhD at UBC in 1999, before working as a post-doctoral research fellow at McGill University for two years. I have been at Queen’s since 2000.
